About This Blog

Hi! I’m Marie, a linguist and Master’s student at the University of Strasbourg, currently enrolled in the CAWEB program in Multilingual Communication. I created this blog as part of my degree, but also as a personal mission: to make AI in language easier to understand, question, and use responsibly.

In my professional life, I work as a linguistic specialist in a company that develops its own Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools. Every day, I see how powerful and sometimes problematic AI technologies can be when applied to human language. There’s a lot of excitement around tools like ChatGPT, DeepL, and other large language models (LLMs), but also a lot of confusion and misinformation.

That’s why I built this blog, to demystify AI in multilingual communication, explain how it works (and doesn’t), and highlight the real opportunities and risks it brings.

You’ll find here:

  • Clear explanations of key AI concepts like LLMs, Generative AI, and prompt engineering
  • Practical experiments in multilingual prompting
  • Discussions about bias, fairness, and language equity
  • Reflections on the future of translation and communication with AI

My goal is to make this content accessible not only to students and professionals in tech or linguistics but also to anyone curious because AI is shaping the way we communicate, and everyone deserves to understand how it works.

AI is not just a tool. It’s a powerful system that interacts with our culture, languages, and values. Using it blindly is risky. I hope this blog helps you think more critically, ask better questions, and use AI more wisely.

Thanks for reading and welcome!

Marie

Explore AI in Linguistics

This blog helps you understand how AI works with multiple languages, how to write effective prompts, and why responsible AI use matters—covering costs, biases, and environmental impact.

This blog is also an experiment in using AI responsibly. The posts are first generated with ChatGPT to structure ideas and provide initial drafts. I then revise and edit them using Grammarly to ensure clarity and style.

For design, the blog runs on WordPress, with a theme extended through Extendify’s AI-powered tools to generate layouts and streamline the creative process. While AI supports the workflow, human judgment and linguistic expertise remain central to ensure quality and reliability.

This combination of automation and human oversight reflects the main theme of this blog: AI is powerful, but it should always be used thoughtfully, critically, and in collaboration with people.
